Western nations and particularly their military organisations rightly focus consistently on leadership as a key element of success - both on operations as much as in organisational effectiveness.  Yet as Australia's cultural fabric continues to be enriched by engagement and interaction with the immense diversity that Asia offers, we spend little effort gauging how such fundamental precepts may function among our cultural neighbours and partners. As a vehicle for learning as much about our own ideas of leadership as about Pakistan's, the presenter will explore the concepts of command, leadership and management in the Pakistani military, and provided insights into its traits, its challenges, its similarities and distinctions.
