Under the Sea Air Gap: Australia’s Anti-Submarine Warfare Challenge

By Brice Pacey

This study, authored by Brice Pacey attempts to identify issues surrounding Australia’s Anti Submarine Warfare capabilities that will require greater scrutiny in the period leading up to the 2014 White Paper. The context is provided by the Government’s commitment to a program of ongoing rigorous and periodic reviews of the mix and scale of Australia’s defence capabilities and their appropriateness to emerging challenges in Australia’s strategic outlook.
